Japan Issues New Guidelines for Flexible Solar Module Installations Amid Land Scarcity
TOKYO, March 19, 2026 — The New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan’s state energy research agency, has released new design and construction guidelines for photovoltaic (PV) systems using flexible solar cells. The guidelines cover perovskite, chalcopyrite, and thin crystalline silicon technologies, aiming to address the growing scarcity of suitable sites for conventional solar installations across the archipelago.
